I’d like to thank everyone in the community
who has participated in this process,
including the City of Gold Coast and the
Gold Coast Waterways Authority, which
have worked in partnership with our
government to produce this blueprint for the
future.
We have received more than 14,000 pieces
of feedback on the master planning options
and have so far conducted two master
planning workshops, each attended by
around 50 key stakeholders and community
representatives.
In early 2019, we’ll finish the draft master
plan, which will then go out for additional
community consultation, and following this
there’ll be a further two master planning
workshops ahead of the master plan being
finalised and released.
This is a fantastic opportunity to create more
jobs for the Gold Coast through tourism,
entertainment and recreation, while
preserving the unique character of The Spit
for many generations to enjoy.
