INDIGENOUS RISINGS
AND RISING FOR
MOTHER EARTH
Indigenous communities everywhere, together with their supporters and allies, rose against
environmental abuse and plunder. This deepened awareness on the connection of the earth and
women, and the global capitalist system that exploits the land and natural resources, as well as
the welfare of the people.
OBR activists everywhere joined the global call to Rise in Solidarity with SACRED STONE CAMP
IN NORTH DAKOTA rising for Indigenous People’s Rights, for water and the earth, LUMAD and
other Indigenous tribes all across the Philippines rose against mining and militarization of their
communities by government and multi-nationals, Indigenous tribes in CHITTAGONG TRACKS IN
BANGLADESH rose against excessive militarization on their lands.
