FROM EVE
Dear V-Friends and Risers, 
2014 was a transformative year for V-Day and One
Billion Rising.

rising was a dance of connection to end racial,
environmental, economic and gender injustice.

The V-campaigns continued to stretch and deepen
around the world. New countries and cities and
colleges performed The Vagina Monologues
and raised millions for their local groups. V-Men
workshops happened on campuses and on military
bases. We joined our resources and energy with
our sisters in Kenya, Afghanistan, Haiti, India and
across the United States, and women were trained in
self-defense, in resisting the practice of FGM, and in
demanding education for the most marginalized.

Each rising for justice was part of the river of justice,
an unstoppable wave, joining us through the
strength and encouragement of our global solidarity.

City of Joy graduated another class and now over
400 graduates in the Congo are building collectives,
speaking out in their communities, getting educated,
finding their voice and working to turn pain to power
where they live. 
One Billion Rising for Justice began to weave an
intersectional, inclusive movement, making more
specific demands and escalating resistance. The
movement was owned far and wide, in the biggest
cities and the smallest most remote villages. Activists
rose in their schools, prisons, college campuses,
outside factories and mining sites, in their homes
and offices. Activists focused on coalition building.
They wrote songs, poems, choreographed dances,
came into their bodies, reclaimed their streets. 

This year 2015 we are upping the stakes. We are
going further. We are calling for radical change.
REVOLUTION.
An energy, a platform, drumming, a catalyst,
dancing, a paradigm shift, a gathering of the ready,
housed everywhere, housed in our hearts.
ONE BILLION Revolution.

and women are finally free.
