2018 PR trends that are sure to get you ahead

In order to be a successful company or firm, you have to be on trend. It’s like fashion. If you’re wearing something new and unique that no one’s seen before and works, you’re going to get attention. Good attention. They’re going to want to be like you and will try to follow suit. Literally. Only in PR those whose attention you’ve grabbed are going to want to hire you. They know you’re innovative and successful and will want your expertise. So, to help you get ahead, I present to you 3 new trends that are sure to boost your success.

1. Expand personal branding and thought leadership

It’s easy to focus on having thought leadership and ensuring that the big guys have strong personal brands. It’s time to move forward and expand that bubble. As influential those guys can be, why not make the most of personal branding have more employees do the same? The more you have growing their personal brands (accompanied by your company’s), the more digital ground you have, thus opening doors for potential clients.

2.Bring in the experts

Let’s face it, there are way more kinds of PR than you think, and making your internal team do them all might not end up the way you want it. Sometimes outsourcing to specialists just might be the best option. Find the experts and let them handle it. Sure, your team might be bitter, but a campaign done right will make everyone happy in the end.

3.Go beyond your field knowledge

There’s a lot of crossover that can happen between PR, marketing, and other communications. Rather than competing with those departments, work with them! The better communication and cooperation between departments, the better the project, the stronger the company, and the happier the workplace.
