So how do we stay on top of time

and produce the best quality of

work? PR and business professionals

are looking to Brian Tracy, chairman

and CEO of Brian Tracy I

nternational, a professional

training and development

company, to help produce

maximum results in minimum time.

In an interview with Forbes magazine’s Roger Dean Duncan, Tracy discusses some ideas for better management of time and the profitability that comes with it.

Beginning with the plethora of distractions that seem ever-present today, he confirms that we do indeed live in a “reactive-responsive mode”. Every second we are bombarded with stimuli interrupting our thought process and focus.

“This is inevitable, unavoidable, and getting continuously worse in our fast-moving world,” said Tracy.

Here are five steps Tracy gives for better time management:

1. Write. define and write down clear goals

2. Plan. organize goals and make a plan

3. Prioritize. determine importance and rank in order

4. Break. set aside specific times for “time out” to allow for distractions

5. Do. follow your plan for quality results

As we implement these time management steps into our lives, for PR or other uses, we will see greater focus, efficiency and success. We can use our time effectively and produce our best work, even under pressure.
