I stumbled into public relations as an accident. I didn't even know there was such a field until I walked into an intro public relations class. The longer I was in the class the more I fell in love with the field. I had an amazing teacher named Stephen Whyte who encouraged me to join PRSSA. Halfway through the class not only had I joined PRSSA, but I had also changed my major to public relations. Needless to say I'm a fan of PR. PRSSA has given me the

chance to meet successful

professionals and work along

side them. I have learned more

about PR through PRSSA than I

have from reading text books.

PRSSA got me involved with

committees; which in turn got

me a job at a public relations and

marketing agency. The

opportunities and benefits

gained by being a part of PRSSA

are truly limitless.

While in school I had two internships and then one more after I graduated. Those experiences helped me better understand and focus my studies, gave me networking opportunities, and assisted me in deciding what exactly I wanted to do after I graduated.

College is a busy time, and making the choice to be an intern can easily become a lesser priority. You may think you are making a sacrifice by
