An example of MATS UTC outreach was our May 6,
2015 Green and Blue Highways Symposium.
This was offered as three webinars and an
in-person full-day meeting in Arlington, VA.
The Symposium invited national speakers to
give presentations providing an overview of
environmental sustainability topics relevant to

A COLLABORATIVE CENTER
MATS UTC is comprised of six universities. We have an advisory board made up of 11 individuals from agencies
and organizations in the region. Most of our research projects are collaborative with investigators from two or
three universities. Over 80 participants including the MATS UTC Executive Team, advisory board members, invited
speakers, research investigators, and graduate and undergraduate students met August 6-7, 2015 for our MATS UTC
