teaching Open water students neutral buoyancy from day one A NOTE FROM THE EDITOR When Sasha first offered this article as a blog for the UTD Community blog site, I flashed back to 2008 when a group of 10 scuba instructors arrived for our first IDC in San Diego, California, and UTD was born. The one cohesive factor that brought us together was the need to teach the way we dive. As UTD approaches a decade of training instructors and students, we have never waivered from that principle. We teach the way we dive...neutrally buoyant, good trim, but most importantly we are thinking divers, diving as a thinking team, careful and conscious about the underwater environment. Be safe, always have your eyes open and brain on, and never, ever dive like this guy!
