Our word T his is the UES Magazine, our newly born baby that was brought to the world hoping you’d enjoy its company, the result of squeezing 12 brains to last drop of thoughts, the result of many hours that were put into it, many drafts, many agreements, disagreements, critics, reviews, argu- ments and debates, we’re not mentioning this to com- plain but to be proud, proud of the bonds that this work have put between us members of the board.. It wasn’t easy at all, it was hard! But it was also fun.. as students we faced many difficulties starting mainly from everybody’s problem: “time”. Prioritizing for students is a great deal, whether to give more time to this task or not and whether or not to consider the whole thing at all was always the puzzle, adding to that how much is com- plicated to coordinate between crew members using just Facebook posts, this was the beauty of the whole thing. We were too excited for this, we were convinced that USTHB should have a new UES magazine edition every month, but we discovered later that it was nothing but hallucinations coming out from some naïve unsophisti- cated students with very limited resources and many oth- er responsibilities to take considering the heavy study’s schedules, so we finally found a common ground to stand on, a half-yearly magazine, so if we could manage a new edition every semester it would be fine to move out to a new one every trimester and we could actually end up with a monthly magazine in the far future.. it all depends on how experienced we could get and on how interactive you could be our dear student. It’s finally here, the humble first edition with all its flaws, a human achievement where we enjoyed all the mess- ing around while working on it, all the lessons that we learned, the skills that we developed, the hidden talents that we discovered, and the amazing people with whom we connected .. We didn’t enjoy releasing as much as we enjoyed living the experience of elaborating it, we, the bunch of freshmen with absolutely no previous knowl- edge in this field, tried to be as professional as possible, while maintaining a average level that goes by with our students who are not really familiar with English, giving that we study in French. So, we gladly hand you over this little treasure, and we hope that we were up to the chal- lenge.. The Editorial Board 03 Editorial Board’s members: Abdallah BENELMADJAT Aymen BELLOUL Daffodil N.
