USA - The Wood-Mizer Way 99 Spring/Summer 2017 | Page 2

FROM THE CEO Dear Fellow Sawyers, Welcome to the 99th edition of The Wood-Mizer Way. Throughout this farming focused issue, you will hear from sawmillers in the United States, England, and Switzerland as well as a family-owned woodworking operation in the Caribbean that have all identified profitable opportunities for sawmills to be a major asset in their farming and business operations. These individuals utilize their mills Richard Vivers, CEO Wood-Mizer LLC for constructing fences, furniture, and structures for personal use while some have also incorporated the sale of raw timber in their local communities to serve as a complementary income to their operation. I commend their ability to recognize the value of producing their own wood products on their farms in addition to capitalizing on the numerous environmental benefits that processing locally-sourced timber provides.
