U.S. keynote speaker René Gross Kaerskov grew up in Northern Jutland, but went to the USA in 1991, where he is today acting out the American dream. René Gross Kaerskov is an example that most of the things you undertake to do are possible, if you are goal-directed. René Gross Kaerskov is today a business man and the director of HBA, the world’s largest hotel design company. He is one of the founders of the Danish watch brand BERING, and he opened THE COPENHAGEN HOUSE, situated in Solvang, California. Most recently, he founded a Danish vineyard in Solvang. Rene Gross Kaerskov is at the same time somewhat of an adventurer. During the past 11 years, he has been training to become Denmark’s first private astronaut. He has made a parachute descent above the North Pole, and furthermore he is the first Dane to ski on both the North and South Poles. The band has many tasks, and popularly speaking it is to serve The Royal Family, The Defense, and the Danish people. This is done by music at royal events, royal visits in Denmark, parades, marches and other ceremonial events. The band is also used as the representative of The Ministry of Defense at various events abroad, and it is also giving many civil concerts every year of various character. March music is central for the band, but also many other concerts with another type of music are given. The band’s repertoire represents more than 2,000 titles, ranging from traditional military music to classic music over jazz and popular music, rock and hip hop.
