Greensands
The redsand sea forts were
originally designed by Guy
Maunsell in the late 1930s. Their
sole purpose was to protect
London against German bomber
planes, which ravaged the city
during WW2. Today however,
they stand as ruins, rusted in
the estuary. With mixed feelings
from a wide range of audiences,
some see them as a nuisance
whilst others see them as the
magnificent structures they are.
Greensands is a project which
focuses on the resurrection of the
towers, as well as journey to use
undiscovered energy sources in
the estuary itself.
