The site chosen is located in
Haggerston in the London
Borough of Hackney. This is a
deprived area where the majority
of residents are from a low
income background.
The aim of this site is to promote
a healthy lifestyle for all ages.
The building proposes to have
a growing facade for the use of
vertical farming which will be sold
on market. The growing theme is
to encourage the ‘green fingered’
people of the community to
submerge themselves within the
community as well as transfer
their growing skills to others.
The second element of this
building is to provide a swimming
pool within the basement due to
the decreasing number of children
unable to swim. The swimming
pool will also have direct access
from the school located on the left
of this building. The aim of this
swimming pool is also to reduce
obesity in young people.
