A plan to help young people
stay out of gang violence. The
aim is to help tackle the root of
gang involvement by introducing
a scheme where young adults
are brought into an emergency
accommodation and they arealso
trained to cook. The training
aspect will be a way to get them
to socialise with the public and
gain hospitality skills. Mentors
and volunteers will be invited
to guide the youths on how to
move away from gang crime and
learn how to apply for jobs and
open businesses for themselves.
The ideal plan would be to have
the young people staying at the
accommodation open their little
businesses once they’re out of the
accommodation and employ other
young people involved in crime to
get their lives on track. Hopefully
in five years time the rate of gang
crime will have decreased due
to franchises opened by young
people. The young people staying
at the accommodation will be 16-
25 years old and stay at the foyer
for up to a year.
