The relaxation space (the tea and
meditation rooms) resonates with the
building’s identity of a church as
churches are spiritual and peaceful
places of worship. The programmes
through the building should
represent a gradual change in
movement from chaos to stillness
from the bottom to the top of the
building and also be a reflection of
the past lives of the building.
The activities will encourage
different groups of people to
interact and break boundaries
between locals, tourists, homeless
people, artists etc, therefore they
would exchange their experiences
and learn from their differences.

The hotel will be aimed at people
of different groups, mainly tourists,
which is the commercial aspect of
the proposal, and people in need of a
place to stay. The people in need are
invited to work in the various spaces
within the building in exchange for
staying in a room for free, therefore
creating economic sustainability.
