Educating and
bringing together
The target I decided to take on is
to bring together the Community
and neighbouring buildings of
Fairfield Road and East Croydon.
It also intends to bring educational
and artistic opportunities, which
I will accomplish by working
along side with Croydon College,
Mayday University Hospital,
Boxpark and Fairfield Theatre.
The main target audience for
my building will be young adults
looking to find jobs, experience,
or a chance to showcase their
talent; whether it’s in performing
arts used as a bridge between
Croydon College and Fairfield
Theatre, a place of exhibition for
the college arts students.
The building will also be used to
connect Croydon College and
Mayday University Hospital to
offer students more opportunities
for work experience, internships,
apprenticeships and professional
work placement. Finally I will
also create a bigger platform for
people that run successful kiosks
in Boxpark to trial an increase in
scale by using our bigger facilities
to expand their business for a
short period of time as it will
rotate per month. As the building
is aimed and targeted mostly
at young adults, a multigym
and swimming pool facilities for
sports and leisure will input the
commercial side of the building.
