Ashcroft Revival
The proposal is to integrate a
theatrical plugin within the
Fairfield environment that will
base its architectural language on
the site and its history.
I will be looking into the concept
of ‘fairs’ and how they are a
platform for entertainment as well
as engaging with its users. My
aim will be to reconnect the area
through Croydon College and
Fairfield Halls with the purpose of
addressing Croydon’s vision for
becoming a creative city.
‘We are Croydon’ is a manifesto in
which Croydon outlines its vision
to become a creative city, where
new artistic talent is uncovered
and art organisations will forge
close links with the community
who will work with schools to help
nurture a thriving collective of
artists, designers, performers and
musicians who will contribute a
vital creative energy to the city.

This will be achieved by using
Croydon College and Fairfield
Halls as catalysts for introducing
a performing arts wing that will be
part of the college and will host
theatrical and musical workshops.
