The proposed site for
implementation is located
between two roads including No.
82 West India Dock Road and
No. 15 Salter Street and covers
approximately 0.156 hectares
of urban brown field land. The
historical context of West India
Dock road involved many
services with trades dated back
in the 1800’s, the project seeks
to bring back the essence of how
West India Dock road were and
create a home for the Westferry
DLR but most importantly create
a hotspot for the surrounding
users of both the areas and the
DLR.
The building will provide the
users with food stalls and an
underground Market in hopes
that the enhanced public realm
of commercial uses will allow
income flow to local residents
and new jobs. As well as the
potential to create a businesses
both in expansion and new comers, tourism and catering
training programmes for young
people
