Oliver Holt e: [email protected] N.S.C ICE RINK The project focuses on the modernisation and redevelopment of Crystal Palace National Sports Centre. A purpose built venue once home to development programs for elite level athletes aiming for olympic success, has become a financial burden with under used and under valued facilities, which simply do not meet current public and private demands. The proposed regeneration begins by attracting a new form of sport and users to the facilities. Ice Hockey is a fast growing sport within the UK, however with only three rinks within London and over 40 teams, ranging from professional leagues to recreational level. The lack of facilities causes over crowded training sessions and limits the development and enjoyment of players. The combination of swimming, skating and gym facilities correlate in public user enjoyment and a successful and proven business plan.
