URBAN LIFE 'N STYLE OCTOBER 2016 | OUT THE BOX | Page 98

Next up , after Rome was Naples . Not as glamorous as Rome but if you look past the graffiti and grime it has a charm of its own . I toured to Sorrento which is a wonderful resort almost entirely given over to the pursuit of pleasure .
The main reason for visiting Naples is perhaps the most important one : FOOD . More than any other city it is the Neapolitan diet that is responsible for our decades-long notion of Italian food .
Pasta is a staple , especially served with a garlicky tomato sauce and pizza was invented here . Naples is home to a handful of unpretentious restaurants that serve the world ’ s most delicious , and most authentic , pizza . I somewhat think that all the Eating was done here in the famous book Eat , Pray , Love .
And then there was Florence . Magnetic , charming and exhilarating . Florence is the capital city of Tuscany the home to Tuscan wine and off course the movie Under The Tuscan Sun .
Stand on a bridge over the Arno river several times in a day and the light , mood and view changes every time . Walk the piazzas and bump into magnificent statues , it is home to Michelangelo ’ s David .
Florence is a living city with a vibrant restaurant and nightlife scene , and a lively cultural vibe that embraces opera , classical music & contemporary art . Picturesque , historic , full of quirky shops and quality crafts and close to the vine-covered hills of Chianti a wine that Tuscany is known for , Florence is one of Italy ’ s chosen destinations .
Every city in Italy has a charm all its own . The true enjoyment is to lose yourself in all the tangled cobbled lanes and make your own little discoveries !
