call The Actors Fund! I did, and they helped me. The Actors Fund and another organization named The Society of Singers. They really helped me get on my feet. Sometimes, that’s all you need is a leg up, and someone to help you get on your feet. That’s what they did for me, and they continue to do for so many other artists. It’s my dream to be able to support them, and artists in that same way.

James Johnson: Definitely. Looking back at your career, what are you most proud of?

Angela Robinson: That I’m still here and I did not quit. I've done some really fun projects. All of them were dreams come true. There’s not one thing I can say that I did not get and say it was a dream come true. My first Broadway show was a dream come true. So was my second. It continues to amaze me that God has blessed me to have a career in this business. I pinch myself all the time. I’m constantly jumping up in praise, if you know anything about praise-dancing (laughing). I’m constantly praise-dancing.

James Johnson: …and that’s good! (laughing)

Angela Robinson: I’m like.. I am an actor. I remember wanting to be an actor at ten years old. I didn’t know it was something that could be realized for me, so I did what people do and got a backup plan. One day, as an adult, I realized I can’t do anything else. This is the one thing that gives me life, and the one thing that feeds me in a way that nothing else does. I just go full out and depend on God and let him be God. I’ll do my thing. I’m always so grateful that I’m still here, I’m still doing it, and it’s still providing for me. "The Haves and The Have Nots”? Oh my god. That’s praise dance all day!

James Johnson: I’m trying to tell you, and I’m not even part of it. I understand (laughing)…

Angela Robinson: Yes, because I’m a theater actor. I've worked in theater for almost twenty years. That’s been my career. Yes, I've done some guest starring roles on television, but my career has been in theater, and I love theater. But my dream was always to be a series regular.

James Johnson: That’s great that you've been able to realize your dreams.

Angela Robinson: Yes, and I’m grateful to Tyler Perry for seeing something in me and giving me the opportunity.

James Johnson: I’m equally grateful to you, obviously for sitting down and talking today, but for me, just to be able to see someone realizing their dream, doing what they love and having a good time, and is extremely humble! I totally get that you’re a humble person and not taking it for granted. I can really appreciate you for all that you are doing to make things better for those coming behind you. What other things do you have going on that we should be looking for?
