Angela Robinson

Working with our cover artist Angela Robinson in putting this Q&A together would probably represent one of my less objective moments in writing. Honestly, I believe it goes hand-in-hand with the human aspect that we want to provide here within Urban Grandstand Digital. Truth is, I think the show is outstanding, and if you’ve seen it, there’s no denying that she does an outstanding job in her role. Hands down, talking with Angela has been one of the best experiences. There’s so much going on with Angela that the world should know about, starting obviously with television.

Surely, you’re one of the millions who have gotten to know her often vicious character, Veronica Harrington, on Tyler Perry’s “The Haves and The Have Nots”. Now entering into the 3rd season, the show has hit a pivotal point in its storyline, and is heating up like never before. This isn’t all that Angela has in her arsenal though. Many saw her grace the Broadway stage as a part of Oprah’s production “The Color Purple”, but that definitely was not her first taste of theater. She’s been in the world of theater for 20 years now. That, along with her roles throughout television, has made her one of America’s favorite actresses. Still, there’s much more to know about Robinson. She has become a supporter of the United Negro College Fund, and will be taking part in their annual Gala being held in Florence, South Carolina. She’s also recently joined the efforts to support Women Veterans Interactive and served as Keynote Speaker at the 3rd Annual Women Veterans & Women in the Military Veterans Day Extravaganza.

Angela also gives a bit into the human side of things and expands upon a rough period in her career where things weren’t necessarily going as planned, and how she was able to recover through the assistance of organizations like the Actors Fund & The Society of Singers. Yes, she’s an accomplished singer! Who knew, right? Well you definitely get it all in our exclusive Q&A, where Angela gives us the full rundown on everything there is to know, including her own company and how she’s working to help other aspiring and established artists build and perfect their craft. You definitely don’t want to miss out on this exclusive!

James Johnson: Good morning, and thank you so much for your time. It’s such an amazing honor to be able toast and talk with you today.

Angela Robinson: Oh, thank you for having me.

James Johnson: I admit that I am a religious watcher of this show. The way families come together obviously to eat dinner; my family comes together to watch “The Haves and The Have Nots”. It is phenomenal to say the least. Your character is absolutely no joke. What was it about this role that made you jump at it?
