Xavier Keyz: I would have to say never give up hope. always believe in yourself, and that you can do it. If the vision and goal is already set, God will give you everything you need to manifest it. It’s already been planted in your heart. You just have to believe, and you can’t let people tear you down and distract you. It’s easier said than done, but you just have too move past those moments.

U.G. Digital Mag: Chicago has so many creative people. How has that helped you progress?

Xavier Keyz: Chicago has been good to me. I was able to get my music on radio. It’s a tough city to compete in, but the good thing is it’s more hip-hop. It’s not a lot of people singing. The scene is different. It’s not necessarily as strong as other cities, but the city taught me how to hustle. It’s one of the greatest gifts because I put that mentality into my music and brand. That has help me so much.

U.G. Digital Mag: In terms of words of encouragement or final comments, what type of last words would you want to say?

Xavier Keyz: I just want to thank everyone for their support of the album. I have a lot of people in my corner, supporting me. Whatever you have in your heart to do, starting a business or anything, just do you. Stick to your true gift. Be yourself and no one can label you as a copycat. Stay true to you, be encouraged, and uplifted.
