Despite our advances as a country , young men of color continue to face significant challenges . Currently 54 % of African American men graduate from high school , compared to more than 75 % of their peers .
The Urban League of Metropolitan St . Louis ’ Save Our Sons program
has helped 300 unemployed and underemployed men living in North St . Louis County find jobs .
This program completes these objectives by assisting the participants in obtaining postsecondary education and job training and teaching the imperative career skills and work ethic necessary to become successful employees in today ’ s workforce .
