THE STATE OF JAZZ IN DALLAS

Poetic Visions Live

These are just a few that have continued to press forward and expand.

We’ve suffered some losses along the way as well. We saw the Dallas Museum of Art end the long running Jazz in the Atrium series. To this day, we don’t comprehend that one. Of course, we saw the end of Live on the Lawn at Klyde Warren Park presented by Chase. An attempt to do jazz without a programming partner like Uptown Jazz Dallas has ended with no jazz being in downtown Dallas’ celebrated park. Things are never lost though. New relationships continue to emerge establishing new programming partnerships and scenarios that will see jazz establish a stronger footing in Downtown/Uptown Dallas. Uptown Jazz Dallas will be at the center of it all. Continuing to advocate for jazz. Presenting the best while encouraging the rest! Stay tuned. Support the artistry! Support Dallas Jazz!
