It's not just about avoiding household waste. stress can lead to wasted time. these simple ideas may help soothe you over the darker season, making life easier.

1 Think of five things you can smell, see, hear,

touch and taste. Focus on them each in turn.

2 Play with a pebble in your pocket.

3 Have a bath or shower. Even a wash may help.

4 Go for a five minute walk around the block.

5 Breathe in and out slowly for five breaths.

Repeat for as long as it takes to feel better.

(Stop if you feel dizzy).
