Professional recognition To become a member of the Australian Psychological Society, and for registration as a psychologist in New South Wales, Australia, you must first complete an approved three-year accredited undergraduate psychology sequence and a fourth-year accredited psychology studies, followed by an accredited postgraduate program in psychology. An alternative to postgraduate study is two years of supervised experience in professional practice.
