VICE-CHANCELLOR’S WELCOME I am delighted that you are interested in studying at UNSW Sydney, Australia’s global university. As one of Australia’s leading research and teaching universities we offer a broad range of high-quality programs which will give you the skills to succeed into the future. UNSW Sydney attracts outstanding students and scholars from around the world and provides an atmosphere which inspires students to excel in their programs of study and research. English Language Courses, Foundation Studies Programs and Diploma Programs are important parts of the UNSW Community. UNSW has the first university operated language centre in Australia, and has been operating for over 50 years. During that time, it has developed an outstanding international reputation for English language teaching and teacher training. Foundation Studies Programs, English Language Courses and Diploma Programs help international students from a wide variety of educational backgrounds to meet the challenging academic entry standards of UNSW and to develop the study, language and cultural skills needed to succeed at university in Australia. By choosing UNSW you will attend an institution ranked 45th in the world that has educated more CEOs from Australia’s top 200 companies and produced more millionaires than any other Australian university. Our graduates consistently earn amongst the highest starting salaries and are top performers in terms of graduate employability. On behalf of the UNSW community I thank you for your interest and hope to welcome you in the near future. Foundation Studies celebrated its 30-year anniversary in 2018 making it Australia’s oldest pre-university program. Our programs provide excellent preparation for university study as well as a university entry qualification. This year UNSW has launched Diplomas in Engineering and Science designed for international students. Upon successful completion, a UNSW Diploma guarantees students direct entry to second year undergraduate degrees in Engineering or Science at UNSW Sydney and two qualifications upon completion of your undergraduate studies.
