Students Under 18 Years of Age

Most international students under 18 years of age will need to nominate UNSW Global as their guardian so that we can provide you with a Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare ( CAAW ) document , in order for you to obtain a student visa . If you do not want UNSW Global to issue you a CAAW document and enrol you into our Under 18 Care Program , then you will need to live with a relative who must fill in an application to be a ‘ Student Guardian ’.
If UNSW Global issues a CAAW and you are in our Under 18 Care Program , then you must choose one of our approved accommodation providers . Our Student Support and Accommodation teams have carefully selected and approved accommodation options , ensuring systems and processes are in place for your safety and security .
Approved accommodation options include dormitory style accommodation ( Unilodge @ UNSW , Urbanest Darling Square or Quay Street , and Unilodge on Broadway ) and a selection of UNSW Global approved Homestay providers .
