English for Engineering,
Science and Technology (EEST)
English for Engineering, Science and Technology is an intensive five week course for students
who need to communicate in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
fields for study or work.
Why study EEST? Course Content
The EEST course helps you increase your confidence
and skills in speaking, writing and presentation in
scientific and technical English. The EEST course helps you to develop your English
skills in engineering, scientific and technical areas by:
Improve your English for:
• Undergraduate or postgraduate studies in the
STEM disciplines
• Increasing your employment opportunities in
engineering, science, and technology.
Entry requirements
IELTS Overall 5.0 with 5.0 writing OR equivalent test scores
OR as a result of an interview and placement test.

Sample timetable available at:
• Listening to and reading scientific and technical
explanations and reports, rules and regulations.
• Presenting on scientific or technical topics.
• Writing explanatory texts on STEM topics including
data and process analysis.
• Developing vocabulary related to engineering,
science and technology.
• Participating effectively in workplace-style group
discussions such as making plans and discussing
issues such as accidents.
