English (CE)
Develop the English skills you need to improve your career prospects and communicate
effectively in an increasingly globalised world. This 5 to 40 week course is structured in five
week modules to suit your ability, from intermediate to advanced levels (CEFR B1+ to C1)
Why study Career English?
Career English develops your general English skills for
communication in any situation, especially for workplace
or business contexts.
• Career English is ideal if your career goal is to work
internationally, dealing with clients or colleagues in English.
It also prepares you for further studies in business.
• It develops your fluency, accuracy and
pronunciation in spoken English.
Entry guidelines
Level CEFR*
Career English 1 B1+ (IELTS 5.0 or results of the
placement test on arrival)
Career English 2 B2
Career English 3 B2+
Career English 4 C1
• It helps you communicate confidently in English
in work and social situations. * CEFR: Common European Framework of Reference
• It develops team skills through group work and
project teams. AUD$450 per week (tuition fees)
Course Content
Career English develops the English skills you need for
a successful career in an increasingly globalised world.
These include:
• Giving effective presentations
• Working in a team to solve work problems
• Giving and responding to feedback
• Writing business emails, reports and job applications
• Participating more confidently in English speaking
meetings, discussions and negotiatio ns
• Socialising with workmates and friends
• Building vocabulary and comprehension through listening
and reading lessons using authentic media and work texts
• Supplementing classroom learning with online learning.
