Curator's Notes

In this exhibition the curator’s notes are somewhat redundant. Unlike previous exhibitions a completed body of work has not been presented by the artist. Instead the artist provides a kit containing the materials required to create the artwork along with detailed instructions to guide its direction.

While the artist is the author of the work, it is me, the curator, who is charged with completing it, with giving it context and breathing life into it. The artist provides the structure, framework and aesthetics. I document the build up to the film, the performance and exhibition.

As curator I use all props and materials provided by the artist to direct the final curation. Over the next few pages my process is documented and my thoughts (usually silent at this point) are revealed, putting on view each step of the process.
