Madison Omahne

Madison Omahne, received her MFA in Sculpture in 2011 from Brooklyn College, Brooklyn, NY, graduating in the top 10% of her class and her BFA in Sculpture from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, FL in 2009.  She studied under influential contemporary artists such as Vito Acconci, Patricia Cronin, Blane de St. Croix and Tom Scicluna.  Madison has exhibited internationally, including being showcased in Project AfterBirth; the first ever international exhibition on the subject of early parenthood, located in the UK.  For the last year, she has dedicated her studio practice to her most recent project “Mama Bird”.  Researching, observing, and analyzing the mother and infant relationship as she completed a professional training program to become a “certified breastfeeding educator”.  This project is dedicated to providing education, support and access to resources within the artist’s community to protect the mother/baby relationship, empower families and advocate the importance of breastfeeding.
