COMING SOON: GAMMA KNIFE TECHNOLOGY The University Hospital Foundation has committed to raising $35 million to build a Brain Centre of international stature. The centre will provide patients with the next generation of the most advanced treatment options, including a Gamma Knife. Once complete, the University of Alberta Hospital will be home to the only Gamma Knife west of Winnipeg. brain surgery. Plus, because there’s no incision in the brain, there’s no risk of infection and the recovery time is minimal.
