“I met with Bremmer. He wants to send a contingent of soldiers into Carlon and rescue as many people as they can.”

The prime minister sat forward and looked urgently into Asora’s eyes. “It will be seen as an attack of the Utopian Kingdom and if there was a treaty we will be in violation of it. Last time this happened, on Ceti-Delphi, the Humans had to beat back the entire Darkcon army and they killed Duke Jeia’s family.” Frenzen sat back, “finally I do not see the rest of the court with the exception of the Fairies, who will also want to go, will allow it.”

“I have not forgotten that my brother’s family was killed. I also know and I told Bremmer as much, that the court would not want the Humans to be armed.” Asora pushed her half eaten plate away and sighed.

“The Elves, Centaurs, Dwarves and Mer-People will never forget that they lost the war with Humans having the Dragons help. The Fairies have forgiven and now sides with the Humans every time which will not help with only have two fourths vote.” Frenzen poured himself coffee.

“Do you think that the Angels will get involved?” Asora asked tentatively. “Do you think Dominus will help if things go badly?”

“You know as well as I do that the Angels will make their own decision. They prefer that we, us Utopians and Darkcons work out our own problems unless the Maker and Architect call upon them as they did during the Great War.” Frenzen picked up his coffee cup and took a sip before putting it down.

“I will still offer the help of the Humans, but I do not want to go to war. We are so ill prepared. The Darkcons are more powerful than they have ever been. I do not see an easy outcome from this. My people, Humans, could easily overcome them. They have steel ships and armaments far superior than the Darkcons and yet they will not be allowed to fight to regain Carlon.” Asora fiddled with her coffee cup, sighing as she did.

“We can only put forward the suggestion of Bremmer’s. I do not see it passing. The court may want to go to war because of the Elves on Carlon,” Frenzen stated.

“And let the Humans rot? That sounds like the court but if they want the Elves evacuated then they need to get the Humans out as well. There will be no compromise on this.” The Princess demanded.

“The Elves know this, not all Elves are that prejudice. The court is just leery of Humans arming themselves. They still remember the Great War.” Frenzen reminded her.

“That war was started by the Utopians,” Asora reminded him.

“Granted but Elves are an old race and they are arrogant but they are not cruel. They would not leave the Humans to the Darkcons,” Frenzen said.

“It does not seem like that at times. But you are correct on one thing though. Not all Elves are prejudice. The Jewel Elves come to mind,” Asora pointed out.

Frenzen groaned at the mention of the Jewel Elves. “They are an odd race of Elf at that.”

“We Humans do not think so. They were very helpful, and were the only ones that helped us during the Great War,” the Princess said.

“They are too curious and reckless,” the Duke said.

“Agreed. However that recklessness and curiosity helped us,” Asora said in return.

“So we will tell the court of Bremmer’s suggestion and investigate the treaty that would allow Laxur to take Carlon. The treaty against the pirates and raiders unfortunately does not say how the Darkcons could get rid of them. That will be what Laxur is counting on,” Frenzen said dully.
