Formation History of UAP-Shanghai
The Filipino architects in Shanghai had never been confined within the comfort zone of their workspace. Almost a decade
ago, they spearheaded the foundation of an informal organization; Filipino Designers Working Group in Shanghai
(FILDWGS), which became an avenue for regular lectures, creative workshops, recreational activities, group tours, sports
and music jams.
As we establish the goals and priorities of the group, we realized our responsibility and desire of being current, connected
and recognized as a professional organization overseas. Through the initiative of our own Ar. Cyrses Coniejos, we finally
gathered pledges of our 32 members to support the chartering of UAP Shanghai Chapter.
On the 24th of April 2014, a light of hope sparked as UAP Makati CBD Chapter affirmed their support to our long awaited
dream. After completing full requirements on October 14, 2014, the UAP National BOD officially announced the approval
of UAP Shanghai Chapter, the first UAP Chapter in China.
We, UAP Shanghai, behind the shadows of built buildings, urban developments, interiors, and landscape designs in
China, have been continually aiming to pursue the highest professional standards of service and advocate the legacy of
humble undertakings to those who are inspired and motivated by us.
