RIPAS Hospital in Bandar Seri Begawan . The group answered a call for volunteers by the local non-profit organization La Vida Bhd . to help paint with a child-friendly theme the recently added peadiatric ward of the emergency room of the said hospital .
• 6 September … The UAP Brunei Chapter First Anniversary and Induction was held at the Star Lodge Hotel , Jerudong . UAP National President Ar . Maria Benita Ochoa-Regala was present along with other UAP National Officers , NEVP Ar . Rey Gabitan , SG Ar . Maria Nina Bailon-Arce and Chancellor of College of Fellows Ar . Miguel Carpio . The National Officers led the induction rites of the Chapter Officers and New Members for FY2015-2016 . Honoured guests from the Filipino community in Brunei graced the event including the Philippine Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam , His Excellency Mr . Meynardo LB Montealegre , Third Secretary and Vice Consul Melvin Almonguera , and other Philippine Embassy officials .
• 4 October … The UAP Brunei Chapter through its Committee on External Affairs organized its first ‘ Sketchwalk ’ in celebration of the World Architecture Day 2015 with the theme : Architecture , Building , Climate Commitments and Solutions . Sketchwalk aims to capture the Bruneian identity through manual drawings and renderings of its architecture and architectural elements . The Sketchwalk was held in the city center of Bandar Seri Begawan where the participants were divided into four groups to cover the Yayasan Shopping Complex , SOAS Mosque , Lapau Diraja and the Waterfront .
• 21 November … the UAP Brunei held its first Potluck Session featuring its own members Ar . Pedro ‘ Jun ’ Fontanilla , Jr . and Ar . Reynaldo Ramos as speakers . Potluck Sessions are informal gatherings of the Chapter where members bring food and knowledge to share . Potluck Sessions aim to provide a venue for members to impart their knowledge and experience relevant to the architecture practice .
• 6 December … A Seminar on Architecture Heritage and Conservation was conducted by the UAP Brunei Chapter in conjunction with the National Architecture Week 2015 . Prof . Rene Luis Mata , a Filipino architect and leading authority in heritage conservation in the Philippines , was the guest speaker .
2016
• February … The UAP Brunei Chapter held its 3rd Chapter Elections for the new set of officers to serve for the coming FY2016-17 . The newly elected officers for FY2016-17 were Chapter President - Ar . Alan F . Filio , Chapter Vice-President for Programs and Development - Ar . Hernando ‘ Nonoy ’ J . Hautea , Jr ., Chapter Vice-President for Operations - Ar . Rey Anthonly I . Castillo , Chapter Secretary - Ar . Iris Rachel P . Pabilonia-Benig , Chapter Treasurer - Ar . Dominic N . Cordova , and Chapter Auditor - Ar . Delaine D . Galvez-Tapao
• March ... The UAP Brunei Chapter joined the Filipino Bowlers Club Brunei in their All Filipino Mixed Handicap 10- Pin Bowling Tournament . The Chapter was represented by the 10-member team Arkistikerz composed of Architects Jun Fontanilla , Christheart Corral , Joel Amante , Nayo Delos Santos , Romy Nabong , Charles Gloria , Alan Filio , Jigs Tacbad , Nonoy Hautea and Jeff Milano .
• 22 April … the UAP Brunei Chapter bagged 2 awards from the UAP Annual Chapter Awards given during the NATCON42 . UAP Brunei Chapter was awarded Best Foreign Chapter under Category Group 3 while Chapter President Ar . Jigs Tacbad received Best Foreign Chapter President under the same category .
