United Nations In One Name MESSAGE FROM THE COORDINATOR OF COLEGIUL NATIONAL OCTAVIAN GOGA

The first trasnational meeting of the Erasmus + KA2 Project- United Nations In One Name took place in Sibiu , between 7th and 10th March 2017 , „ Octavian Goga ” National College hosting the representatives of the partener schools from Turkey , Portugal , Poland and Hungary .
The main goal of the project United Nations In One Name is to make students understand the cultural diversity in order to perceive all the differences between countries as cultural wealth , to improve the perspective on the European citizenship , to respect other people ' s culture , traditions or customs , meanwhile enjoying a European common identity . Due to this fact , the activities of the teachers implied in the project proposed by the hosting school aimed the acquaintance with the multicultural area of Sibiu . It was expounded the educational diversity of our school , where students with Romanian , German and Hungarian mother tongue are schooled . On the 7th of March our foreign parteners had a guided tour of the city where they were told about the history of Sibiu which is mingled with more other cultural ascendancies , the specific architecture of the buildings was explained in detail just as the main sights of the city . Furthermore , on the 9th of March all of our parteners enjoyed a trip to Peleș and Bran Castle , aiming the descovery of some historical important places of Romania . Within the last day of our transnational meeting a visit to the Astra Open Air Museum was organised . This is a magic place where you can find works of Romanian traditional folkloric civilization . The old houses , the workhouses , the sheds , the buildings complex are spread around a beautiful lake , among the trees of Dumbrava Sibiului Forest .
Moreover , culinary experiences were offered , the traditional Romanian food being combined with European food . For Sibiu this first meeting of the project members meant also a way of promoting our city from the touristic point of view throughout the photos that our guests shared on the internet or on social networks . For the educational system of Sibiu , Erasmus + Projects are very important , having a positive impact upon the students , teachers and society ; this great importance was proved by the presence of the general school inspector , Mr Ștefan Firu , at the welcoming festivity , as well as the attendance of the inspector for Europen projects , Mrs . Anca Voineag , to the handing cerificates festivity . The Turkish coordinator presented all the project with a great professionalism within the working sessions : she explained the activities , she insited on the management of the project , she proposed activities for the next mobilities and she also initiated the members of the projects into eTwinning and Twinspace . All the participants made an exchange of opinions and set together the way of developing the next activities . The first meeting was a success , a happy and resultful colaboration of the five different cultures teachers , united by a common aim and by a brilliant human quality .
