Roosevelt stated in a speech to Congress it was "a day that will live in infamy". The United States declared war on Japan and officially brought the United States into World War II. It is the time when everyone around the world says “good-bye” to the old year and ring in the new. A large city in America celebrates with a ball drop while most around the world offer fireworks.
