Shamwari Game Reserve a Green Leader
Shamwari Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape has received its Greenleaf Certification for all six of its
lodges. Through commitment to operating its lodges in an environmentally conscious way, the reserve
has managed to reduce its energy, water and waste. The installation of LED lights along with staff
training and awareness has contributed to the reduction in energy consumption while the installation
of grey water recycling plants enables it to use its recycle waste water in the gardens. All properties
within the Shamwari Group are audited by the Greenleaf Environmental Standard every two years in
