Keele University Science and Innovation Park is one of the leading developments of its
kind in the country. Located in the heart of the UK, it offers companies an environment
that provides an innovative research culture combined with academic expertise
and specialist resources. It currently serves Biotech, Medical, IT, Environment, and
Professional Services. The University’s growing links with large and small businesses,
especially in high-tech areas, have created a key regional centre of excellence that is
an asset to the local and regional economies and allows companies to access wider
and diverse resources across the Midlands and North West.
One of the longest-established and
fastest-growing parks in the UK, Keele
University Science and Innovation
Park provides around 180,000 sq ft of
commercial mixed-use accommodation,
with infrastructure in place for the
development of a further 70 acres. The
Park has been designated a priority
investment site within North Staffordshire
and is a cluster site for technology and
healthcare-based businesses.
The Science Park supports the growth
of innovative businesses, particularly
those active in research and development,
by providing a renowned location,
state-of-the-art accommodation and
a range of business support services.
The park is equally suitable for a wide
range of companies from start-ups to
existing larger businesses seeking to
expand or relocate, as well as attracting
knowledge-based companies from
overseas, across a broad range of science
and technology sectors.
The Science Park’s Innovation Centres
provide some 130,000 sq ft of mixed use
accommodation, with suites starting from
200 sq ft. This includes two buildings
providing specially-designed high-spec
accommodation for innovative medical
and high-technology businesses, offering
a mix of laboratory units alongside office
accommodation and workshop space for
light manufacturing.

Full planning permission has been
granted for the next major phase of
development, which encompasses a
further 70 acres for expansion, building
on the academic and economic successes
of recent developments such as the
Medical Sciences Complex and the range
of Science Park buildings.
This development – comprising 38
acres of mixed-use accommodation and
a further 32 acres for roads, services, open
space and landscaping – is now underway.
The fifth Innovation Centre, IC5, was
completed in August 2016, with further
Innovation Centres due to follow.
A further development will be a
national R&D facility to deliver UK
