Innovation Birmingham Campus is the region’s leading location for digital and tech
start-ups, providing office suites, meeting and conference facilities, and co-working
opportunities for innovators, entrepreneurs, and investors looking to develop or fund
innovative digital start-ups with high growth potential. With a range of campus facilities
including the Entrepreneurs for the Future (e4f), Serendip Smart City Incubator, and
Cleantech for Acceleration programmes, co-working amenities, and flexible office units
ranging from 115 sq ft to 10,000 sq ft, tenants have all the facilities they need to put
them on the path to success.
One Campus
Opened in 2001, Faraday Wharf
was the first building at Innovation
Birmingham Campus and incorporates
70 office suites specially designed for
growing technology businesses.
In March 2016, the building was
joined by the Campus’ flagship £8 million
iCentrum building, offering flexible,
innovative space to accommodate more
digitally-orientated entrepreneurs and
SMEs from across all key business sectors
in the regional economy.
In October 2016, the Universities
Centre was launched, providing an
additional 5,212 sq ft of enterprise space
dedicated to furnished offices, flexible
co-working, training sessions, and events.
Serendip Smart Cit y Incubator
Sitting at the heart of our iCentrum
building, the Serendip Smart City
Incubator provides market access and
expertise for digital start-ups through
close partnerships with major
organisations, accelerating the early
growth of new businesses.
With six months’ free co-working
space, early stage businesses can co-locate
and work alongside big name brands
including Barclays, Wayra, London
Midland, TATA, the West Midlands
Academic Health Science Network,
Transport for West Midlands, and
Transport Systems Catapult.
Launched in April 2016, this incubator
also provides access to commercial
partner databases, 1-2-1 business
mentoring, and market validation.
Entrepreneurs for the Future
Based in our Faraday Wharf building,
this ERDF-supported incubator supports
the creation of innovative technology
ventures. Birmingham has some of the
UK’s best innovative talent, with this
incubator helping to support some of
the city’s best and brightest to enable
them to reach their full potential.
Start-ups become part of a flexible,
highly connected, and collaborative
environment from day one, with nine
months’ free co-working space. Start-ups
also benefit from 1-2-1 visiting expert
workshops, free access to over 140 annual
events, and access to a purpose-built Test
Lab, enabling start-ups to test their new
app or program across multiple devices.
Since it was established in 2009, e4f
has successfully supported the creation of
