A modern approach to innovation

The University of Suffolk and IWIC encourage collaboration and inclusion
and early stage startups across multiple technology sectors . IWIC has been established by the University of Suffolk as a focal point for developing entrepreneurs and innovative business concepts within a collaborative workspace . IWIC members can interact
with university experts and student interns across a range of disciplines , as well as being able to access 3D imaging and printing facilities to support design , prototyping and skills development . Members include entrepreneurs , innovators , freelancers , digital creators and professional service providers , with low barriers to engagement between start-ups and University expertise .
The IWIC provides co-working space , networking , training and collaborative opportunities , with subject areas including STEM ( Science , Technology , Engineering and Mathematics ), Digital Creative , Leadership and Business Management at the University . IWIC facilitates access to advice , training and support from a range of organisations championing innovation and growth in Suffolk and the region . The University of Suffolk describes itself as a distinctive , thriving academic community which makes a clear and immediate impact . ■

Oxford BioEscalator expected to attract start-ups and spinouts
New UKSPA Associate Member the Oxford BioEscalator is a laboratory-based incubator for medical science companies , based on the University of Oxford ’ s medical science campus in Headington , Oxford . The BioEscalator will be managed by the university ’ s Medical Sciences Division . Tenants will be offered shortterm , flexible contracts and be provided with help and support for their businesses , shared laboratory facilities and assistance with access to the University ’ s wide range of medical expertise and facilities .
The BioEscalator , housed within the new amenities building on the Old Road Campus , will be ready end-of-summer 2018 . There will be communal space for networking , meetings , hot-desking and shared laboratory space for anyone interested in medical and bioscience research commercialisation . For
University researchers , the BioEscalator will be a focal point for interacting with bioscience industry and forming contacts and collaborations . The BioEscalator staff will be available to University researchers for facilitation and advice .
For start-up companies , there will be a range of services as well as laboratory and office space . Priority will be given to
