Welcome back to the printed edition of ARena magazine. It’s been almost twelve months since our last issue and we’ve been busy building our new ARena Online website and monthly email newsletter. Designed to keep you up to date with even more of the latest debt advice news and views, all delivered straight to your desktop, tablet or smartphone, it features contributions from the industry’s leading voices. So far we’ve published thought-provoking posts from regulators, advisors, creditors and campaigners, discussing everything from food and fuel poverty to the everyday challenges facing frontline agents. Initial feedback has been overwhelmingly positive with more and more visitors subscribing to My ARena, a dedicated area of the site which allows you to share and bookmark favourite articles and events. To refresh your memory and in case you’ve missed anything, we’ve gathered some of the stand-out ARena Online articles into this printed version of the magazine, along with two new topical pieces that we think you’ll find interesting. 4 UKAR ARENA SPRING 2015 6 Categories of thoughtprovoking posts across: industry news, regulatory update, advisor insight, creditor insight, debate articles and case studies. FREE Monthly newsletter 1,000 Growing community of almost unique users. As well as overseeing the ongoing development of ARena, our Customer Assistance and Collections team has spent a productive few months liaising with charities and advice providers to learn from their approach. Supporting vulnerable customers has been a key focus. We’ve taken advice from organisations including Citizens Advice, StepChange Debt Charity, the Money Advice Service and National Debtline about developing even more specialist help for those in the most need. We’ll use the valuable insights we’ve gathered and your feedback to inform our approach to supporting customers of NRAM, Bradford & Bingley and Mortgage Express as well as providing the best advice and content going forward. This sense of collaboration and partnership working underpins everything we do here at UKAR. That’s what ARena – in both its printed and online formats – is all about; connecting with the debt advice community, and providing a credible platform for us all to share thoughts on best practice, updates and ideas. If you’d like to feature in ARena, please do get in touch at [email protected] or visit ARena Online ukar-arena.co.uk and subscribe to receive monthly updates direct to your inbox.
