The UK Open finalist trailed 5-1, but proved once more why he can never be written off as he landed five straight legs to clinch a deciding leg victory in one of the first round’s most thrilling encounters. Adrian Lewis was third favourite heading into the tournament and he showed why as he overcame Kevin Painter 6-3 to set up a second round clash with Michael van Gerwen that was sure to have fans everywhere on the edge of their seats.
