Van Peer’s campaign started with a victory 4-3 victory over Kevin Doets, which he ably backed up with a 4-1 defeat of Shaun Lovett. Lovett had earlier looked to be on course for the final after he inflicted a heavy 4-1 defeat on Kevin Doets, but in the end he couldn’t match van Peer who booked his place after an impressive win. Roelofs secured the first set 3-2 with a crucial break of throw in the fifth leg and then visibly relaxed as he went on to claim the second set 3-0, securing the prestigious title in relative comfort.
