The two-time World Champion took the initiative early on and was
leading 4-1 going into the first break, only for his opponent to hit back
when they returned to the stage.
Lewis again extended his lead, taking out 80 with two double tops in
the tenth leg to open up a four leg cushion at 7-3 as the players left
the stage for the second break.

Barneveld rallied somewhat, checking out 138 as he closed the gap
to 9-5, but it was Lewis who prevailed, landing his seventh 180 of the
match as he wrapped things up in the fifteenth leg.
“I really enjoyed that,” said Lewis. “I knew it would be tough against
Barney after winning the Premier League last week, but I had to hit
him early and I did the job tonight.
“I finished well and double top didn’t let me down tonight. If I can keep
that up on Friday then there’s no reason why I can’t go all the way.”

the round as he sort to restore some confidence to his televised game
