BDO International Open
Martin Adams added a 31st title to his illustrious CV when he
lifted the trophy at the BDO International Open on Sunday
8th June.
The three time World Champion overcame Tony O’Shea in a close
fought final which took ten of a possible eleven legs to settle,
whilst earlier in the day he had defeated both Darryl Fitton and
Scott Mitchell in an impressive run of form that saw him storm to
the crown as he looks to regain his World Number One ranking.
O’Shea’s run to the final had been equally impressive and included
victories over Glen Durrant and current World Number One James
Wilson.
The ladies title was won by Deta Hedman, who defeated Anastasia
Dobromyslova 5-2 in the final after overcoming Fallon Sherrock in
the semi-finals.
Rhys Griffin of Wales claimed victory in the youth event, whilst
Chris Harris and Jan Robbins secured victory in the mixed pairs.
