o Stay me A Star Of The PDC Calendar Photo: PDC/Lawrence Lustig it would be great for other nations to be able to host the competition and who knows it may provide an opportunity for those countries to grow their darting talent base. of the competition. This contrast to the usual style of play I think helps to keep things interesting for fans. Finally there is patriotism. The tournament provides players and fans alike the chance to get behind their country and it has been known for players to raise their game when they pull on the national shirt. Could It Be Better? All in all the World Cup Of Darts is a great competition and it seems as though it is here to stay. There are however a couple of areas that I feel the competition could be improved in. I would like to see the tournament move around the globe a bit more for a start. The Sporthalle in Hamburg has proven to be a good base for the tournament and no doubt it will continue to be so, but I also feel that re-introducing a group stage for the last 32 stage of the competition would provide a better opportunity for some of the lesser nations to gain experience and coverage. This would probably mean going to a four or five day long competition, but there is still just about space on the calendar for this and after all you can never have too much darts to watch! What Would You Do? I would love to hear your views on the recent World Cup Of Darts. What would you change? Who impressed you? How did your nation get on?
