Dubai Duty Free Darts M Photo: PDC/Lawrence Lustig Following the huge success of last years World Series events the decision was taken to expand the tour to at least three events this year, with the first, like last year taking place in Dubai. The two day event, which took place in the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium on 29th and 30th May, featured the top eight players from the PDC Order of Merit and threw up some of the best matches of the season to date. There were good performances from Peter Wright, Adrian Lewis and Dave Chisnall, but when all was said and done it was Michael van Gerwen who retained the trophy that he had won in the tournament’s inaugural year. Quarter Finals Adrian Lewis 10-5 Raymond van Barneveld Recently crowned Premier League Champion van Barneveld may well have been expected to take victory in this match, certainly if current form was to go by. But as they say form is temporary and class is permanent, a point underlined by Lewis who put in a great display to progress to the semi-finals. A Glorious Double For van Gerwen
